“Blue Bottle is coffee and people. Not necessarily in that order.”
—James Freeman, Founder
In our eyes, coffee’s main purpose is to be delicious. We go to great lengths to source, roast, taste, and prepare coffee so our guests can enjoy it at peak deliciousness.
We know that good coffee depends on strong community. We work directly with farmers around the world to source our coffees as sustainably and ethically as we can. We hire team members who are dedicated to creating beautiful experiences with coffee.
From the farm to the cafe, our coffee is handled by people who care.
At Epi Breads, we've spent more than 40 years doing something most manufacturers only talk about: staying artisan at scale.
We supply restaurants, retailers, and foodservice partners across the country — but walk into one of our plants and you'll find bakers who take real ownership of their craft. We don't run assembly lines. We develop people.
Our team reflects that. Many of our employees have been with us for 20 years or more. They represent countries and cultures from across the globe, and they've built careers here — moving from the production floor into leadership, from line roles into management.
We invest in our people through structured training, leadership development programs, and a culture that rewards accountability and growth. If you're someone who takes quality personally and wants to be part of a team that genuinely runs together — we'd like to meet you.
One Team. One Plan. One Number.
In 1849, Isidore Boudin combined his skill of French bread baking with fermented wild yeast nurtured by the fog-cooled air. This magical combination created The Original San Francisco Sourdough™ – Boudin. The bread with its dark golden crust, soft, chewy center, and distinctive flavor soon became a local favorite.
We are San Francisco’s oldest continuously operating business. Much has changed since our boomtown beginnings, but one thing hasn’t: our commitment to honor and preserve the art and science of The Original San Francisco Sourdough™
