Most data providers hand you a list and call it a day. Not sure what type of phone number you’re calling? Figure it out. Wondering if the number’s even active? Sure, but it may not belong to the person you have in mind. While some verification tools confirm a number is “real,” few give you actionable insight into whether or not it matches the person you’re trying to call.
That’s why we’re introducing phone grades to all RocketReach numbers. Phone confidence grades match existing email grades, so you can easily identify and prioritize high-quality numbers.
How it works:
- A grade (Best): Confirmed, valid phone numbers with strong identity match signals.
- A- grade (Likely): Confirmed, valid phone numbers that do not have confirmed identities.
- B grade (Possible): Phone numbers worth trying, especially if better options are not available.
- F grade (Invalid): Invalid numbers are automatically removed from profiles.
New phone numbers are continuously verified and graded to ensure data freshness. In fact, internal testing found that Trestle-verified phone numbers are twice as likely to result in successful connections compared to contacts that have not been verified yet.

How it works:
- Search for a personal or company profile to view pre-verified phone numbers
- Mobile phones will continue to be visible, as usual.
- Direct dial numbers reach contacts directly, bypassing primary company phones.
- Office phone numbers are company numbers that can be used as an alternative if a mobile or direct dial number isn’t available.
Now, you can meet leads in the middle by dialing the phone lines they prefer.

Conduct smarter research with enhanced phone filters
If you know your ICP like the back of your hand, this one is for you. Our new phone filters refine searches based on your lead’s phone type and confidence grade. Build a lead list of A grade direct numbers, or expand your outreach to A- and B-grade mobile numbers.
How it works:
- Navigate to the Search tab from your RocketReach dashboard.
- On the left-hand side, below “Contact Details,” select “Contact Method” to filter by line type. Mobile, direct dial, and office phones can all be filtered alongside personal and work emails.
- To filter by phone grade, scroll down to “Phone Grade” under “Contact Details” and select the minimum required phone grade you want to prioritize.
