Real Action Information

Real Action is an educational charity (in the UK) most noted for our outstanding Butterfly Saturday Reading Schools for children, and also our English language courses for adults. At the Butterfly Schools, we help children to learn to read by the systematic Butterfly reading programme. The children, aged five to twelve, come from London’s most deprived communities. They achieve astounding results: Reading ages improve by over a year in just twenty hours’ Butterfly teaching. These improvements have a lasting positive impact on their lives. We have been achieving similar results for the past two years from the Butterfly Reading intervention programmes we now deliver (usually during school hours or on extramural basis) at local primary and secondary schools. Many professionally trained teachers are now discovering that our Butterfly course is a Powerful Educational Solution for use in their schools. Real Action specialises in sourcing, developing and delivering proven-effective, structured and basic education programmes for children, teenagers and adults. Our fast-acting, effective courses, ensure high quality teaching of literacy and English language, that transform the lives or prospects of the individuals in communities that we serve. You Can Help Make a Difference: There are many ways you can support Real Action as we work to give children, teenagers and adults access to the literacy and language skills they need so much. How to Get Involved: Whether by providing financial support as an institutional donor or philanthropist, through fundraising or making individual donations, or by offering your time and dedication as a volunteer or intern, you can work with us to make a real and measurable difference to the lives of many more children.
