ICOOR Information

ICOOR – Interuniversity Consortium for Optimization and Operations Research is an Italian interuniversity consortium that brings together the expertise of 10 leading universities: • University of Bologna • University of Cagliari • University of Camerino • Polytechnic University of Milan • University of Modena and Reggio Emilia • University of Pisa • University of Trieste • Polytechnic University of Turin • Polytechnic University of Bari • University of Bergamo Originally founded around Operations Research and optimization, ICOOR has evolved into a multidisciplinary research network actively involved in major European research projects funded by the Horizon Europe programme and other international collaborations. Today ICOOR contributes to projects that address complex challenges through interdisciplinary approaches combining: • mobility and transport systems • logistics and supply chains • digitalization and data-driven decision making • sustainability and social impact The consortium has decades of experience in participating in and coordinating collaborative European research projects, with strong expertise in project management, monitoring, and impact evaluation. ICOOR also promotes the integration of social sciences and humanities with STEM disciplines to support responsible and socially aware research and innovation. By connecting universities, companies, and public institutions, ICOOR acts as a bridge between academic research and real-world applications, helping develop innovative and sustainable solutions for emerging technological and societal challenges.
