BEYONDgear is founded in the idea to use adventure for good. We believe adventure sports venues in at-risk communities can be utilized to create social change. Every purchase of a BEYONDgear product gives one at-risk kid the gift of adventure. The favelas (slums) of Rio de Janeiro are built within a Mecca of world class rock-climbing. Youth in these underprivileged communities are faced with an array of difficulties and negative influences like drugs, violence and gangs. Climbing can offer these youth a positive alternative to their daily struggles and even get them a job as climbing guides.
