Atlantic Restorative Company Information

The Atlantic Restorative Company (ARC) is focused on creating space for authentic human exchange. We do this so that people can build and repair relationships, deepen understanding and feel more connected to the world around them. We work to build and restore communication, good feelings and trust between people. We utilize key learning from research in many fields such as restorative practices, human emotion, neurobiology, psychology, anthropology, sociology and alternative dispute resolution to help create the optimum conditions for a strong relationship. Optimum conditions often include participatory, fair and inclusive processes. We use and honour ancient indigenous technologies to build structures, processes, and tools that are deliberate about creating opportunities for people to “stand in each others shoes” and learn each other’s story. Storytelling and personal narrative is as vital in modern settings as it was our ancestors. ARC believes that a restorative approach offers a helpful framework and language to provoke synergy between people, organizations, systems and structures no matter how different they are. ARC is also a social entrepreneurship and that means that we seek social change as a vital outcome of our activities. We feel that entrepreneurs have a new and exciting role to play in our society, one that blends economic viability and sustainability with the larger social good.
