Novanet was established in 1988. It currently consists of eleven post-secondary institutions. It serves over 50,000 full time equivalent post-secondary students. Novanet libraries offer various services to Nova Scotia residents through the LNS borrower's card and the Libraries Nova Scotia Borrow Anywhere Return Anywhere program, which is a partnership between Novanet and all public libraries in the province http://librariesns.ca/content/borrow-anywhere-return-anywhere-bara . It is an incorporated company governed by a Board of Directors consisting of the director of libraries of the member institutions. The Novanet consortium office consists of the Novanet Manager and technical staff.
