WHEAT Trust Information

The WHEAT Trust is committed to empowering women from rural and peri-urban areas in Southern Africa. Through supporting grassroots women to seek local solutions to local problems, the WHEAT Trust invests in education, training and capacity building to foster women's leadership and to enable dialogue. To achieve this, the WHEAT Trust promotes a culture of giving and follows the principles of human rights for women and of feminism. The WHEAT Trust gives grants to women-led Community Based Organizations (CBO's) working in their communities that would not yet be able to access formal funding. The WHEAT Trust supports these CBOs when they need to learn new skills that would promote their outreach in a more professional and visible manner. The WHEAT Trust encourages CBO's to gain accountability and good governance. The WHEAT Trust helps women become community leaders.
