University of Westminster Press Information

Based in the heart of Central London, the University of Westminster Press (UWP) is an open access publisher of peer reviewed academic books and journals. Launched in 2015, UWP exists to provide global public access to academic work in multiple formats. UWP builds upon the strengths and traditions of the academic community and alumni of the University of Westminster and publishes both books and journals. Our publications are peer-reviewed by experts, considered by journal or book series editorial boards and overseen by our university press editorial board. There are no charges for individual authors to publish articles in our journals nor as authors or contributors of our published titles but there is usually a direct link to the research specialisms of the university in one of our key subject areas of media studies, education, law and theory, politics and history. Our journals are freely published online through open access (CC_BY) in all key digital formats. Our books are also published in all major digital formats (CC_ BY_NC_ND) as well as being available in print at affordable prices via major online retailers. UWP was set up to enable Westminster’s research community to engage with the global open research agenda, to enhance the university’s research environment and provide for greater dissemination of impact in its key research areas. However authors external to the University of Westminster are set to be a big part of our publishing programme. Part of our mission is thus to encourage the spread of open access publishing globally and we welcome the opportunity to collaborate with others working in this field in a variety of ways.
