Theater Steps Information

Theater Steps’ mission is to educate and provide the musical disciplines needed in vocal, piano, and guitar performance. The goal is to inspire and challenge each individual towards excellence in music by providing fun and innovative techniques in a one-on-one private lesson setting. Each lesson focuses on developing repertoire, performance delivery, audition coaching, and a solid foundation in music theory that is tailored to the individual's needs. TS prides itself on being a stress free learning studio where it’s never too late to start! The studio is equipped with a music library with a wide variety of music styles and genres. TS was founded by Lisa Villamaria Casia, a passionate music educator, actor, performer, and adjudicator in the NJ festivals and competitions. TS is a result of Lisa’s ambition to merge excellence in music education with performance for inner city kids in the Hudson County region of NJ. Lisa’s teaching approach is a combination of her experience as a public school music teacher and her “real world” experience having toured nationally and internationally as a performer. Her desire is to share knowledge about what casting directors & artistic directors look for in the “real world”. Lisa keeps students inspired and motivated to perform by teaching music that is fun and current. TS covers a variety of genres of music styles including pop, rock, country, musical theater, and classical.
