As we worked in and around these events, we realized that the need for a platform that can reconnect people when they become untethered. Our platform connects people to the outside world for news, reporting atrocities, crisis mapping and distributing critical data. Tethr is a network in a box. It provides easy-to-use voice, SMS, Wi-Fi, 3G/4G data, and satellite connectivity. The box connects with tethr’s cloud services to coordinate crisis response initiatives. The box also works while offline, providing local applications and services to users. The service delivers the platform and the network anywhere in the world, within 24 hours.
