TechOperators is an early-stage venture capital firm that invests in cybersecurity. Founded in 2008, based in Atlanta, backing companies across the US and beyond. We invest at pre-seed and seed, occasionally at Series A. We usually lead, and we reserve for follow-on rounds. We have been the founder, the seller and the buyer. Our partners built ISS, the company that turned intrusion detection into a category, created the X-Force team, and sold it to IBM. We founded Endgame and sold it to Elastic. One of us sat on the buying side of twelve security acquisitions. We know how a cybersecurity company gets bought because we have been the one buying. Our record is a list of calls made early. Flashpoint, before the dark web was an intelligence source. Phantom, before there was a word for SOAR. Todyl, when MSPs were a channel, not a security priority. BlackCloak, before digital executive protection had a name. Exits include Phantom to Splunk, Immunet to Sourcefire, Endgame to Elastic, Ionic to Twilio, Tala to Intuit and Phylum to Veracode. We have co-invested with Kleiner Perkins, Bessemer, Insight Partners, Google Ventures, Bain Capital Ventures and CRV.
