Founded in 2007, the mission of TeachingGreen is to enable a sustainable future for life on Earth through comprehensive and empowering environmental education for all. We believe in the power of the individual to protect our home, Planet Earth. We work to make the green choice the natural choice. Whether you are an individual who wants to do more to protect the environment, or a teacher who wants to plant the seeds of environmental stewardship in your students' minds, we are here to help. We currently offer three educational programs: - GROWING UP GREEN TOTS for Preschool and Kindergarten Officially endorsed by actor and environmental leader Ed Begley Jr., this FREE program is the first program of its kind in this country. Growing Up Green Tots makes it EASY for you to create a green and healthy classroom for your students, so that reducing, reusing, and recycling become a natural way of life for them. - GROWING UP GREEN KIDS for Grades 1 – 3 Our Growing Up Green Kids program offers schools in the Los Angeles area a series of three presentations on the three cardinal rules of sustainability: reduce, reuse, and recycle. Featuring the familiar character Flat Stanley, these presentations engage students with hands-on activities. - THE GREEN LIFE for Adults Our Green Life presentations for adults take the mystery out of going green to help concerned individuals make truly effective environmental choices. Six presentations cover the topics of Transportation, Food, Home & Garden, Solid Waste and Household Toxics & Hazardous Waste. We are happy to do just one presentation, all six, or anything in between.
