SYSTEMICS ACADEMY provides seminars, trainings and coachings for leaders, managers and teachers. Our clients include media and IT companies, clinics, startups, and the Berlin board of education. We help our clients 1. improve the effectiveness of their communication – do more with less 2. stay focused on cooperative, problem-solving attitudes, even in crises 3. successfully manage conflict resolution in partnerships and in groups/teams We believe that understanding neurobiology and the EMBODIED NATURE OF COMMUNICATION leads to better results than the mistaken expectation (still shared by many leaders, managers and even some teachers) that communication is a purely rational, cognitive act - that if we become rhetorically competent and good at reasoning, we can become better communicators, and better at our jobs. Neurobiology, embodied cognition, and of course psychology and sociology tell a DIFFERENT STORY. And while some parts of this story have been told for over a century, other parts are new and contradict assumptions made by great psychologists and sociologists alike. Especially within the realm of neurobiology, the last twenty years have seen fascinating intellectual battles fought over decisive topics - for example : 1. How does the brain create language and speech? How are words and meaning transported to another brain? 2. To what degree are our actions are conscious choices versus automated reflexes? How does that affect our communicative behaviour? 3. Which brain areas and neurotransmitters do we need to engage to change behavior? We NOT ONLY bring this knowledge to the table, we PUT IT TO GOOD USE.
