Clarks Mining Services was established in 1990 in Wollongong with the objective of manufacturing equipment for the underground coal mining industry. Today, Clarks Mining continues to develop products and to provide service and sales. Along with providing key products such as grouting equipment and hand held rib drills, Clarks also manufacture stone dusting equipment, air ventilation machines and crawler track drill rigs. Over 15 years ago Clarks Mining were the first to utilize a hydraulic rotator for the feed mast allowing rigs to easily drill floor, roof rib and face. Clarks Mining continue to investigate and develop products and improvements to assist the operator to reduce OH&S costs and to improve productivity. Although initially servicing primarily the underground Coal industry, Clarks Mining Services' products have found ready acceptance in hard rock mining and civil applications through out Australia, New Zealand and Asia. The continued steady growth of Clarks Mining Services has emanated from the original aim of "designing, developing and manufacturing equipment by mining people for mining people" and working very closely with end users, so that products are both practical, reliable and cost effective.
