SOCAPA was founded by a small collective of New York artists in Greenwich Village in 2001, with the first group of Filmmaking and Acting students joining in the summer of 2002. From student curiosity and demand, SOCAPA added Dance and Photography over the next two years, as well as campuses in Los Angeles, Vermont, London and Costa Rica (though we are not currently running abroad).
