Smithville Music Information

Smithville Music is a small mom and pop retail music shop. We celebrated 25 years in business in December of 2007. We are located just north of Kansas City (near the airport) in the small town of Smithville, Missouri. String instruments (mostly guitar) and accessories make up the largest part of our inventory. However, you will also find other basic items from band instruments, piano books, pop books, fake books, violin supplies, bluegrass books, repair parts, etc. After 25 years I've collected some odd items, so if you are looking for something, drop me a line or give me a call, I might just have it or know someone who does. Guitar-wise, I mostly focus on beginner and step up instruments. Which of course means import (mostly China). I look for the best bang for the bucks. All guitars are set up by me personally, even the least expensive ones. If it is not worth the money, I won't sell it! String instrument repair is handled through Keith George. Many of you from the Midwest recognize the name from many years of service in the K.C. area. Keith is authorized repairman for Martin and other major makers. Other small repair on various instruments may be done at my shop. Also I can refer you to most competent repair sources, piano tuners, etc. Some things, string changes, etc., I can do while you wait. Lessons are a very large part of what we do. As you will see in the section under "Lessons" we take teaching very seriously here at Smithville Music. So, go ahead and check it out! WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THIS WEBSITE! First, this is NOT an online store. If i come across something exciting, new, or different, I might point it out on the site. If i'm offering a really good deal, or having a sale I might point it out. Yes, I would be happy to mail you items instock if you need them, but that is not my first focus at this time. I mostly want you to know I'm here for you. We will have some concert and festival information. If some of you have a gig in the area, let us know we will try to add it to the list. If your local and have a new CD coming out let us know. Or let me know what you would like to see on the site. Also in time I would occasionally like to add a mini lesson for guitar, bass, or in basic theory.
