Silva Tae Kwon Do is a small, independent studio. Here students get a lot of personalized attention as they learn TKD under the instruction of the studio's proprietor, Jorge Silva. It is a highly respectful environment, and there is a strong emphasis on developing confidence, self-discipline, courtesy, and perserverance along with the physical TKD skills. Mr. Silva is a third degree black belt, and has been practicing martial arts since he was 13. He is eager to share what he has gained with his students of all ages. " I ate and slept Tae Kwon Do. I learned self-control, patience, respect for others, courtesy --that you treat others the way you want to be treated. And I learned how to keep a positive attitude--not to give up in life--that there's nothing you can't do." The studio offers classes for children, teens, and adults. Silva Tae Kwon Do is certified by both the W.T.F. (World Tae Kwon Do Federation) and U.S.T.U. (United States Tae Kwon Do Union.). This is the highest level of certification possible, which means you are recognized as a black belt anywhere in the world, and you can enter any National, World, or Olympic competition if qualified.
