Rubicon Dance Information

Rubicon is a social arts charity has been bringing disadvantaged, socially isolated people together to help them experience a new sense of belonging since 1975 using the power of dance. Rubicon works across South Wales and has delivered community focused creative activities to disadvantaged people for 45 years. We are acknowledged as one of the UK’s pioneers in this field. Our work encompasses the young, old, infirm, disabled and marginalised. We commit to the people we work with for the long term and in many cases we have worked with the communities we serve for decades. The people that we work with trust us to be constantly there for them and the groups that we support become communities in their own right. We frequently challenge traditional views of what it means to dance, whether this is where we dance, who we dance with or what artistic expression looks like. Rubicon works in day centres, care homes, schools, hospitals and community venues of all kinds, as well as at our own, well established premises in the heart of the Adamsdown. To deliver our artistic vision we encourage people to take part in dance, develop talent and perform. We run Wales' only pre-vocational dance training course and we take responsibility for developing the dance workforce in Wales. Registered Charity 269068
