Relaxbirth® is (r)evolutionary (medical technology, MedTech) solution for childbirth. This global, unique innovation was born in the delivery room and its properties have been developed within a network of professionals from many fields relating to childbirth and ergonomics. Our user-centered innovation consists of the CE-marked and patented Relaxbirth® birthing support device, method and services. Relaxbirth is culturally independent, suitable for different traditions. This new proven solution offers an easier, active, more relaxing and empowering birthing experience. With the help of Relaxbirth birthing support system mothers can choose different delivery positions according to their needs. Relaxbirth has received both Finnish and international awards. The latest recognition is the 2012 Red Herring Top 100 Global Winner Award, which has become a mark of distinction identifying promising new companies. The European Union Women Inventors and Innovators Network (EUWIIN) first prize was presented to Relaxbirth in 2009. Relaxbirth was also awarded an honorary mention for the City of Helsinki in the InnoFinland 2009 competition and was a winner in the ScanBalt HealthPort competition 2013.
