The University of Georgia, a land-grant and sea-grant university with state-wide commitments and responsibilities, is the state's flagship institution of higher education. Established in 1996, Pollinator Partnership (P2) is the largest 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to the health, protection, and conservation of all pollinators. Pollinators include bees, bats, birds, and other animals that are necessary for about 1 of every 3 bites of food and are critical to healthy ecosystems.
The National Honey Board is a federal research and promotion brand under USDA oversight that conducts research, marketing and promotion programs to help maintain and expand markets for honey and honey products. The Board’s work, funded by an assessment of one cent per pound on domestic and imported honey by consumers, the food service industry, and food manufacturers.
