(Novitas) provides high-quality, innovative, administrative services for government-sponsored healthcare programs and serves as a Part A/B Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) under multiple contracts for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Novitas is a valued CMS partner in the Medicare Program, with a history of serving as both a carrier and an intermediary since the Medicare Program's inception in 1965. As a MAC, Novitas serves as a single point-of-contact entity processing Medicare Part A and B claims from hospitals and other institutional providers, physicians and practitioners. Novitas serves the Medicare Program in Jurisdiction L, which encompasses Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, as well as the District of Columbia, and Jurisdiction H which includes Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
