Next Chapter, a social venture of Tides Center, transforms the tech sector by creating sustainable employment pathways for people returning from incarceration. While talent is equally distributed in America, opportunity is not. About 2.5 million people are currently imprisoned in the U.S. Once released, the unemployment rate among formerly incarcerated individuals is nearly five times higher than that of the general population. Through Next Chapter, the tech sector has the unique opportunity to offer meaningful career paths, build their talent pipelines, and reduce recidivism.
