Mmmmaven Information

Mmmmaven is a new-era music education project and event producer. Featuring hands-on classes and weekly parties, we celebrate and triumph new music and music production every day in every way. Mmmmaven Project courses offer hands-on exposure to the many facets of music production. Our state-of-the-art production labs are outfitted with advanced software and technology such as Ableton Live 9 and Serato Scratch Live. Seasoned and skilled instructors join our classrooms straight from the venues, imparting the wisdom of experience and tricks of the trade. As a musician, how can technology help you update your sound and excel? If you're looking to DJ, who is your audience? What is the difference between building a smooth lounge set and a crowd banger? How should you organize your music? And how do you mix from one song into the next anyways? These are just some of the lessons you will learn with Mmmmaven. You will master the equipment and technology used in music production, and channel that knowledge to better understand the art of performance. In addition, all courses feature unlimited time in the laboratory during your coursework. Mmmmaven is also an event producer, working with popular acts like Jamie XX and Four Tet, but also the burgeoning underground acts like Jacques Greene and Jackmaster. Mmmmaven books the award-winning weekly Thursday night, called "Make It New," at the Middlesex Lounge. The party is currently in its 10th year. Additionally, Together Boston is an annual city-wide celebration of music, art, and technology each and every May. During the week, the Project lab hosts numerous free seminars and participatory events, while the festival is booked by Mmmmaven, working with various promoters around town. Music. We love it.
