MaraFun Information

MaraFun is an innovative run program designed to encourage children at the elementary school level (grade 3 and up) to get active by running or walking with their friends a total of 42.2 km over a six to eight week period—the distance of a Marathon! MaraFun is a wonderful way to get kids that would not normally enjoy running to try it out in a non-competitive environment and improve on their own personal level of physical fitness. Parents whose kids have participated in this program have commented on how much better their child does in soccer, baseball, swimming etc because of MaraFun. There is plenty of evidence attesting to the fact that if you value your brainpower, and that of your children, you’ll want to make certain that exercise is a regular part of you and your family’s life. MaraFun is just one more way you can ensure your child has exposure to fun, safe physical activity at the school-community level with their friends in an environment that fosters personal achievements rather than winners or losers.
