For over 60 years, Lindley Educational Trust has been delivering high-quality outdoor learning that transforms lives through authentic adventure, meaningful challenge and innovative programmes. We believe the most powerful learning happens beyond the classroom by immersing children, young people and adults in real outdoor environments. We create experiences that build confidence, resilience, leadership and a lifelong belief in what is possible. As an educational charity, our purpose is to enable children and young people to become the best version of themselves, so they can make a positive difference to others and their communities. Every programme is designed with clear learning outcomes, ensuring adventure becomes a catalyst for personal growth rather than simply an activity. Each year we work with thousands of children, young people and adults through school residentials, curriculum-linked outdoor learning, youth work, university programmes, apprenticeship development and leadership experiences. Our programmes combine authentic adventure with skilled facilitation and structured reflection, enabling participants to develop the confidence, communication, resilience, teamwork and problem-solving skills that transfer into education, employment and everyday life. Supporting young people facing disadvantage is at the heart of everything we do. Through our youth and community programmes in Ashton-under-Lyne and Sheffield, we provide trusted relationships, positive role models and progressive pathways into volunteering, leadership and employment, helping young people raise their aspirations and realise their potential. By working in partnership with schools, universities, employers and community organisations, we're developing confident learners, capable professionals, stronger communities and future leaders.
