Hackney Learning Trust is a department of the London Borough of Hackney with a greater level of delegation than other council departments and will be modelling a new way of working for the delivery of public services that is both customer focused and democratically accountable. Hackney Learning Trust will trade services with schools in and out of Hackney. These traded services will be organised on a commercial basis, emphasising value for money and sustainability. We are responsible for the East London borough's schools, day nurseries, the play service and the adult education service. We are committed to improving standards for Hackney's 27,000 children in 75 schools across the borough. We answer to our stakeholders, who include parents, pupils, staff, governors and members of the wider community and strive to engage them in our decision-making processes.
