At Future Earth, we believe that research, innovation, and collaboration can transform the world toward sustainability. We harness the experience and reach of thousands of scientists and innovators from across the globe. Together, this global community facilitates research, mobilises networks, sparks innovation, and turns knowledge into action. Our organization is rooted in the work of 27 Global Research Networks. These networks have a long history, in some cases stretching back decades, of generating research at the forefront of sustainability science. They played a critical role in forming the field of Earth system science – which considers how all of the parts of the planet, including human societies, connect to and shape each other. Our Global Research Networks also led in defining the Anthropocene, a new epoch in the geologic history of Earth marked by the influence of humans on the planet. Future Earth builds on this scientific legacy to accelerate transformations to sustainability through research and innovation. We are a major international convenor that fosters a culture of an engaged research based on the co-design and co-production of knowledge and tools. We work to incorporate the latest research findings into government, business and community decisions and policies. The Global Carbon Project’s annual projections of greenhouse gas emissions, for example, have helped to shape the targets of the Paris Agreement on climate change. We experiment in generating new ideas, innovations, and collaborations. In that vein, we are working with tech companies to develop new approaches to reducing carbon emissions. We also foster networks of early career researchers and other innovators, encouraging new ways of thinking about how sustainability research and practice gets done.

Our Mission - Is to champion new and grassroots causes that are green and healthy by nature. We do this by giving community initiatives the space and voice they need, online or offline. At Healthy Planet we believe that the health of the planet, and the health of local communities, are inextricably tied in with personal health and well-being. Therefore, our specific projects and initiatives are designed to bring all of these elements together in new and innovative ways that everybody can get involved in. Why does it matter? With the human population at its highest level and growing, our planet is feeling an enormous strain. This makes it increasingly difficult for the Earth to provide sufficient food, water and habitats for humans and nature. Most disturbing is the way our children will be affected. Lifespans are predicted to decrease for new generations unless things change. Thousands of development, conservation and community organisations are attempting to tackle these pressures, but their efforts are often fragmented and poorly funded. Healthy Planet puts you at the centre of forging positive change by demonstrating how small steps can make a big difference. Take responsibility for making change. The AHA Community Health Improvement (ACHI) network, an affiliate of the American Hospital Association and the Health Research & Educational Trust, is the premier national association for community health, community benefit and population health professionals. We provide educational resources and tools, professional development and networking opportunities to help health leaders expand their knowledge and enhance their performance in achieving community health goals. Mission To advance healthy communities by providing our members education, professional development, resources and engagement opportunities in the fields of community health, population health and community benefit.
