Grain Collective is a landscape architecture and urban planning practice. Through meaningful, dynamic collaborations with clients, partners, and stakeholders, we design projects that empower communities. The studio has two divisions – Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning – which are constantly informing one another. Grain Collective works on public housing developments, playgrounds, plazas, private gardens, waterfront public space, streetscapes, masterplans, campuses and mixed-use developments. Our designs include strategies for spatial, environmental, economic, and social betterment –thriving, equitable spaces to live, work, and play. While we have done projects around the world – from Manhattan to Mexico – we have a particular depth of experience working in New York City, in lockstep with a variety of municipal and state agencies. Grain Collective’s community engagement campaigns are inclusive, creative, and proactive. Our process embraces hard questions and builds consensus. We consider the community an indispensable partner – our job is to equip stakeholders with the knowledge and inspiration necessary to empower them to envision the richest opportunities for their community.
