Gather & Grub Information

My grandmother always told me, "Never let your guests go home hungry". I took that to heart because growing up in my family meant that EVERY guest who walks into your house is offered or just given a bite to eat. Family GATHERings were always focused on food and while my sister, brother and all of my cousins were immersed in games playing out in the yard, I really loved being in the family kitchen. Preparation began sometimes days in advance, "peel that daikon, chop that onion, snap the ends off those beans." From Dad, the grill master searing all the marinated meats, to the timely orchestrated kitchen dance where my Mom and Aunties moved in sync creating dishes that blended flavors from the "old country" with local ingredients. Til this day no matter where I am in the world, whatever country, whoever's home I may be in, when I smell the most familiar of scents from my childhood, the one of sauteed onion and garlic, it transports me back to my childhood, back to the family kitchen where I know I'm home. I have been with Gather & Grub since the beginning and bring to the table (pun intended) more than 8 years of professional experience in the kitchen. My love of food goes all the way back to my childhood, helping my mother make Japanese comfort food, and preparing for large gatherings with extended family and friends. My heart and soul goes into every dish and every special moment for you and your guests. I also bring more than 25 years of experience as an event planner, presenting hundreds of events. My gatherings have ranged from intimate get together's at clients homes to huge fundraising banquets, weddings, baby showers and birthday parties - and even once, an elaborate apology! I love helping guests create memories for a lifetime.
