Established in 1954, Franklins has proudly stood at the forefront of New Zealand's premium plumbing and bathroomware sector for 69 years, embodying family-owned and operated "Kiwi" values of quality, integrity, and dedication to customers. We represented the world's finest European bathroomware, with exclusive arrangements for leading brands including Bette, Hansa, Viega, and Wieland. Our curated selection of baths, showers, toilets, vanity tops, tapware, and more served architects, homeowners, developers, builders, and plumbers across the New Zealand. Status Update (August 2024 onward): Franklins entered voluntary liquidation on 5 August 2024 as a responsible and proactive decision by the family shareholders to wind down operations ethically amid significant external challenges in the building industry and economy. This ensured all staff were supported (with unpaid wages and holiday pay prioritised), ongoing projects were completed where possible, suppliers were treated fairly, and the process was managed transparently with licensed insolvency practitioners. The business successfully concluded trading, with stock sold down and sites vacated by early 2025. We remain proud of our legacy of delivering exceptional European-quality products and our commitment to stakeholders throughout. Operations have now ceased, but the Franklins story reflects resilience, family values, and a principled approach to closure.
