First Position Dance Studio Information

First Position Dance Studio was founded by Miss Janice (Tester) Zugarek in 1985. First Position Dance Studio strives to give the best quality instruction in ballet, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, modern, Pointe, tap, & tumbling in the area. We offer classes for ages three through adult, beginner through pre-professional. We try to provide as many opportunities for guest instructors and special interest classes as possible. Although our primary focus is on dance, we believe that all forms of physical challenge can be beneficial to everyone's body. Therefore offering drop-in sessions in Aerobics, Toning Bootcamp, Yoga, & ZUMBA. All of our ballet classes are based on Russian technique, which we feel produces the best results and a sound comprehension of ballet technique. Hip hop classes emphasize body movement and rhythm. All jazz classes are structured to provide a strong training ground and understanding of the dance. Modern classes are based in Horton technique and focus on individuality and expressiveness. Tap classes emphasize balance, control and the quality of sound. Tumbling classes highlight balance, muscle control and basic tumbling skills.
