We empower generations to explore the wonder of childhood and reach their full potential.
We treat play as if the future depends on it — because it does. Play is our language, and we speak to our consumers authentically by representing the world as they see and imagine it.

Mattel is recognized as a Great Place to Work™ and as one of Fast Company’s Best Workplaces for Innovators.
The story of American Girl started in 1986 with Pleasant Rowland, a writer and retired teacher from Chicago with a brilliant idea. Pleasant found inspiration to create educational dolls with historic backstories after a visit to Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia.
Originally known as Pleasant Company, American Girl started with sending out catalogues until we opened our first retail location in Chicago in 1996. Pleasant Company was purchased by Mattel in 1998 and renamed American Girl in 2003. American Girl offers an inspiring world of dolls, content, and experiences that nourish a girl’s spirit and helps develop her strength of character. American Girl has earned the loyalty of millions and the praise and trust of parents and educators.
With best-selling lines including Truly Me™, Girl of the Year™, Bitty Baby™, WellieWishers™, and the classic historical character line BeForever™, American Girl sells products through its award-winning catalogue, on americangirl.com, and in its proprietary U.S. experiential retail stores.
American Girl is a subsidiary of Mattel, Inc. (NASDAQ:MAT). For more information, visit www.americangirl.com or connect with American Girl on YouTube and Facebook.

Wanna Play?
It’s how kids often introduce themselves. No names, No handshakes. Just a straightforward question that means, “do you want to be friends and have some fun?” At KidKraft, we’re built around play. What makes us play experts, you ask? Well, aside from never truly growing up (why would you want to?), we juggle these five bubbles that keep our play floating to a higher standard.
P – Power of the team – We bond over common goals and uncommon ideas. Embracing diversity of thought and background is a core ingredient to our process.
L – Lil’ Something Special – Our products are smile-starters. We cartwheel toward delivering joy, wonder and fun through spectacular features and extra attention to the small things.
A – Adventure into Everything – Innovation isn’t easy, but in order to leapfrog over the competition, we have to get our hands dirty. After all, making messes is part of the fun!
Y – Young at Heart – Here, we’re kids for life! Brain breaks consist of kickboxing, yoga and chef-made lunches. We bond over field trips, themed happy hours and playing it forward by volunteering our time.
! – Leave ‘em Speechless! – Everything we do leaves us amazed, and we want our little customers to feel the same.
