2024 BC's Top Employers The City of Maple Ridge is located on the traditional territory of the Kwantlen and Katzie First Nations north of the Fraser River between the Pitt River and Stave Falls in the shadow of the Golden Ears Mountain. The railroad, located on the banks of the Fraser River, was the principal transportation route from Canadian Confederation until the development of the road network, including the Lougheed Highway, which saw the community shift from the riverfront to the current downtown in the early 30s. Maple Ridge has doubled in size every 20 years since 1921 and the most recent Census in 2021 revealed that our population was now over 91,000 citizens. Maple Ridge is one of the fastest growing communities in BC and the investments in the last decade to build the Golden Ears Bridge and the Pitt River Bridge have helped fill a housing boom and new investment in business.
