Bristol & West Information

Bristol & West is one of the biggest hockey clubs in the Bristol area. In the spring of 2008 North Bristol and West Gloucestershire Hockey Club merged to form Bristol and West Hockey Club. Both clubs have a long history and West Gloucestershire Hockey Club became affiliated to the Hockey Association over 100 years ago on the 23 September 1893 - making the new club one of the oldest in the West Country! Bristol & West runs 7 men's teams, currently 1 ladies team and has a flourishing junior section. Our youngest playing Member is 6, and our oldest is - well lets just say you're never to old to play! From our under 10's all the way up to our Vets we have a team for everyone and all abilities are welcome. Our home ground is at Winterbourne International Academy - The Ridings School - in Winterbourne with our clubhouse based at Hambrook Sports Club. Our objectives, in partnership with business and the community, is to be 'The friendliest club in Bristol'. We aim to be this by being a place of fun and enjoyment for sportsmen and women, their families and friends - A leader in youth development of hockey - A venue for prestige hockey - A social and business meeting centre offering good value for money - A responsible and active supporter of the community - Professionally and financially well-managed.
