The goal of BonsaiBirth is to provide a whole and balanced perspective to your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum time. I provide non-judgmental guidance in order to help you cultivate beliefs for YOUR best birth. Every woman may choose a different path; my intent is to enable clients to make well informed decisions. The choices made during pregnancy are the first steps as parents and building your bond with your child. Please allow me to share my knowledge and passion for healthy happy families with you so that you too can cherish your journey. The Greek word doula translates to “woman who serves”. This term is now used to refer to a trained and professional Birth Attendant. The role of the doula is to provide physical, emotional and informational support to both the expectant and new family. Scientific studies have proven that having doula can greatly improve birth and postpartum outcomes. Evidence like reduction in cesarean section rates, length of labor, and use of interventions such as epidural while in labor; after birth there are higher rates of successful breastfeeding, reduced postpartum depression and an easier transition into the new family dynamic.
