When Scott and Ally Svenson founded MOD Pizza in 2008, they knew the last thing the world needed was another pizza place. In their hometown of Seattle, they imagined a new way for people to enjoy pizza, by bringing speed, individual style and value to one of America’s favorite foods. But the real secret sauce wouldn’t be the product, it would be the people who serve our communities — the MOD Squad. By taking care of employees, they would take care of the customers, and the business would take care of itself. It’s how we’ve built a culture of opportunity, belonging and community for the past 13 years, and it’s catching on wholeheartedly.
In 1959, armed with savings of only $1,800, William R. Larson opened his first restaurant in Menlo Park, California. He wanted to create a place where families could go to relax, to experience a real sense of community, and to share a superb pizza. Bill called his little restaurant Round Table Pizza Parlor.
By 1962, demand was extraordinary. With three locations already thriving, employees and customers saw an opportunity to expand Round Table through franchising. The hard work and dedication of these founding franchisees has driven our tremendous growth. After more than 50 years, we have expanded the Round Table family to more than 150 franchise groups operating some 500 restaurants.
Today, Round Table continues to serve up great tasting pizzas that customers crave. We roll our dough from scratch, add our fresh blend of three cheeses, and lavishly top our pizzas with only premium meats and garden fresh vegetables. We are also known for our unique specialty pizzas. Over the last 15 years, Round Table has introduced more than 30 successful new products, and we are considered a pioneer in pizza innovation.
The world has changed over the last 50 years since Bill Larson opened his first pizza parlor. The fast pace often leaves no time for a relaxing family meal. But like Bill, we still believe that serving families is Round Table’s most important role. Parents are looking for the chance to sit down as a family in a place that welcomes, respects and celebrates family meal time.
By serving a superb pizza and nurturing family connections in a comfortable place to gather, we can all be a part of bringing families closer together at Round Table for years to come.
With over 100 years of coal fired brick-oven pizza-making traditions, we continue to ensure that future generations are able to experience our distinctive and truly authentic pizza.
Why coal-fired brick ovens? The tantalizing aroma of pizza and calzones baked to perfection in our signature coal burning oven offers a unique flavor and a crisp crust that is just not possible from gas, convection or wood burning ovens.
Our fresh ingredients, handmade mozzarella, 'secret recipe' dough and pizza sauce make us the most award-winning pizzeria in the United States.
It is our passion for pizza that has made us a "must have" for pizza lovers and celebrities alike, including Frank Sinatra and former NYC Mayor, Rudy Guiliani.
Welcome to Grimaldi's Pizzeria, we are honored to have you as our guest!
