Arte Dance Studio Information

Rebeca Segovia is a graduate of the University of Texas Pan American and no stranger to the Rio Grande Valley, with her origins from Mexico where she fell in love with the culture and the dance of her native country, She stared her career in the United States as an international student where she later graduated under the Dance and Spanish program. Rebeca has been dancing since she was three years old and has studied with various choreographers and dance artist like Viviana Basanta, Carmela Greco, Adrian Santana, Joaquin Encinas, Marisol Encinas, Carmen Coy, Karime Amaya, La Tania, Yloy Ybarra, Maria Bermudez just to name a few. Her dancing techniques include Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Belly Dance, Folklorico and Flamenco. She is currently studying for her Masters in Spanish Literature and Linguistics at the University of Texas RGV. To shape a dream into a reality takes perseverance and character, two of the best qualities of Rebeca. Arte Dance Studio is home to Luz de Luna Dance Company, a professional non-profit dance company established in 2011 that focus in taking our Hispanic heritage within our community, through out the country and internationally. With the Company under her direction for four years to the date, she was able to see the need for a school in which the main focus of it would be to give the community a place to learn about dance and those with experience the ability to grow in their technique. She is also a mother of four beautiful daughters and married to Abel Segovia Jr.
