Arts Bridging the Gap was founded in 2014 with the mission of bringing artists, educators and community organizations together to create impactful arts programs for children in underserved areas of Los Angeles. Our goal is to equip youth with the skills and confidence needed to think, express and create in ways that prepare them for today's workforce and social culture. We currently have three core programs that use art as a means of bridging the achievement gap for underserved individuals and communities: - The LA Street Art Initiative fosters empathy and connection between underserved youth and law enforcement by bringing together teens and the LAPD to create murals that represent community, compassion, and pride in our city. - The Empathy Project is an educational environmental arts project planned and created by children living in significantly different communities. - Girls Make VR partners with industry leaders to champion diversity and inclusion in the immersive tech industry.
