Abatel were established as an independent company 1997 and we continued our investments in total power solutions and electronics. At an early stage we realized that quality as well as the environmental focus were two important factors and they soon became vital and very important ingredients in our activities on the market. Accordingly we were ISO-9001 certified shortly thereafter, followed by ISO-14001 a couple of years later. Continuous improvements, coupled with an active and intensive work to select environmentally friendly battery alternatives has since that been one of the main focus in our activities. In the beginning of the 2000's Abatel Development was introduced, which during the years has become a technical competence and design/R&D-center. We have invested in test- and laboratory equipment to meet our customers' demands and ideas around the latest battery technologies. With our experience and competence in this field we have successfully progressed projects and studies on behalf of some of the major Swedish industrial companies. Today we are 10 people with a steadily increased turnaround and with direct links to some of the major and most important cell producers on the market. Since a couple of year back we are one of the battery companies in the Addtech group where we, together with our sister companies in the Nordic countries exchange experience and know-how, whilst we at the same time have a strong and solid owner who is supporting us.
