Abacus was founded by Jane Bedford in 1985 in Durban, South Africa; the current owners, Mike and Hazel Bartlett bought the company in July 2008 and have continued marketing the products produced by rural Zulu beaders to provide an income for their families. Combining the traditionbal skills of these beaders, using the finest raw materials available internationally, and the latest fashion colours and styles to complement the latest fashions worldwide. Abacus offers high quality products which are covered by a unique warranty against manufacturing defects. Our products are exported to Europe, USA, Australia, as well as supplied locally by many top quality retailers countrywide who service tourists to South Africa.
