Youth Shoot Information

The Byron Sportsmen and Conservation Club was founded in 1983 on land located five miles north west of Byron, just across the Olmsted-Dodge County line. Since its founding the Club has increased in size to approximately 115 acres through the purchase of adjacent properties. Club membership is capped at 350 members: 100 Life Members and 250 Annual Members. Key activities include rifle, pistol and shotgun shooting, archery, camping, hiking, and social gatherings. The Club sponsors a pheasant hunt and/or goose hunt for members and family/ friends every fall. Throughout the year the Club sponsors events that are open to the public including: Sporting Clays, 3D Archery shoots, and a free Community Youth Shoot (our #1 community outreach). The Club sponsors a Wild Game Banquet each spring, known as the "Best Game Feed Around." The Club is open year round, with access controlled by members having the combination to the front gate lock. BSCC actively supports the local community by making its people and facilities available to law enforcement, youth groups, handgun license, and hunter safety classes, etc. Several members are certified NRA instructors. The Club practices wildlife conservation on its land with input from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Club property provides habitat for a large resident population of deer, turkey, pheasant and many non-game species. A branch of the Zumbro River on the property contains panfish and smallmouth bass. BSCC is affiliated with the Minnesota Conservation Federation, and the Byron Chamber of Commerce.
