Wild Bird Trust Information

The Wild Bird Trust is a Southern Africa–based conservation organisation working across Angola, Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa through a network of locally governed entities. We work at landscape scale — across ecosystems, borders, and communities — because that is the only scale at which conservation truly holds. Our work connects science with traditional knowledge, and local communities with the wild spaces they depend on. From the Angolan Highlands, where new species are still being discovered and formal protection is urgently needed, to the Kavango River in Namibia, where human-wildlife conflict plays out with little regulatory oversight, to the Cape Parrot forests of South Africa and the waterways of the Okavango Delta — every project is rooted in place and inseparable from the people who live there. We integrate research, storytelling, education, and long-term partnerships to build ecological resilience that lasts — because conservation that doesn't serve communities doesn't survive them.
