Wichita Rowing Association Information

WRA is a local not-for-profit group that has been active in Wichita since 1974. We are partners with the Wichita City Parks and Recreation Department and offer a variety of affordable rowing programs for juniors and adults. Each year, the WRA hosts the Frostbite Regatta and also sends rowers to competitions all over the country. Wichita's Little Arkansas River is our venue. Company Overview Our membership is made of families, youth and individuals, many of whom rowed in college, who love the sport, the challenge and camaraderie, and want to see rowing grow in Wichita. Description Currently based on the Little Arkansas River in Riverside Park and also rowing on the big Arkansas River in downtown Wichita, the Association owns a number of sculling and sweep shells and other equipment for the use of its members and the community through organized classes and events. Mission To operate and maintain a Community Rowing Center with membership open to all in the Wichita area. To expand and promote rowing in Wichita Parks and Recreation offerings as a recreational and athletic endeavor. To promote rowing competition and holding of regattas. To improve condition and strengthen the moral fiber of youths. To carry out educational and charitable purposes of the WRA.
