WASPA Information

WASPA is an independent, non-profit self-regulatory body association with a remit of representing and self-regulating mobile-based value added services providers, otherwise known as WASPs. The Association aims to provide a neutral forum for members to address issues of common interest and interact with industry stakeholders, network operators and government bodies. With over 250 members, and membership of an industry body with a recognised Code of Conduct has been made compulsory by CellC, MTN, Telkom and Vodacom for all WASPs. The Code of Practice has been designed to ensure that consumers can use mobile services with confidence, and assurance that they will be provided with accurate information about all services and the pricing associated with those services. The Association also provides a platform for complaint handling that is used to address concerns raised by the public relating to services provided by WASPA members.
