What We Solve For people living abroad, accessing the authentic flavors of their homeland can be incredibly difficult. Whether it's due to international marriages, studies, work assignments, or life challenges, everyone deserves the comfort of familiar food when they need it most. Food has the power to uplift, inspire, and create moments of happiness with loved ones. At WASO, we are building the infrastructure to make it possible for anyone, anywhere, to enjoy the authentic taste of their homeland, even those they couldn't access before. About Us WASO is a London-based online manufacturing and retail platform specializing in Japanese groceries. We design, develop, manufacture, and distribute our products, owning the entire value chain to address this fundamental challenge. Unlike traditional specialty stores with limited space or restrictions on imports, WASO takes an online-first approach and integrates in-house manufacturing capabilities to solve the problem of limited access to homeland foods on a global scale. Our Vision Since launching in March 2020, WASO has expanded across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. In summer 2025, we will expand to Paris with plans to serve all of France. While we began with Japanese food, the challenge of accessing authentic homeland foods is universal. By 2030, we aim to operate in 7 countries and broaden our offerings to cuisines beyond Japanese food.
