WA Cricket Competitors

CA is the governing body for professional and amateur cricket in Australia and our registered office and main office is in East Melbourne, Victoria. Originally formed in 1905 as the 'Australian Board of Control for International Cricket’, we are a not-for-profit organisation and a foundation member of cricket’s world governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC). CA operates all the Australian national representative cricket squads, including the Men's, the Women's, Youth, Indigenous, Inclusion and Indoor teams, and is also responsible for organising and hosting Test tours and One Day Internationals with other nations, as well as scheduling the home and international fixtures. We work in partnership with State and Territory cricket associations and support the development and growth of cricket in the community and globally. We have more than 320 employees, located across East Melbourne (Jolimont Street), the National Cricket Centre in Brisbane and the offices of State associations around the nation. While CA doesn't own nor control any other entities, we share lessons learned with State and Territory associations and other cricket bodies.

Established in 1871, the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) is one of the nation’s premier sporting bodies, with a vision to inspire and unite the South Australian community through Cricket. Operating within the sports and entertainment industry, SACA offers an exciting and dynamic working environment, and is responsible for overseeing and developing cricket on a State level. The SACA is responsible for coordinating international and domestic cricket matches, Premier cricket matches and community carnivals, coaching and development and pathway programs for girls and boys, coaching, umpiring, volunteer development and ground management. It also administers high performance cricket in South Australia, including the West End Redbacks, Scorpions and Adelaide Strikers women’s and men’s teams. SACA has over 25,000 members, making it arguably the largest cricket membership in the world. For all cricketing events held at Adelaide Oval, SACA Members enjoy access to the Adelaide Oval member’s area, featuring member’s bars, dining rooms and the popular Village Green. With a strong focus on teamwork, speed, skill and strength, hockey has been thrilling Olympic audiences since 1908. Hockey WA provides an annual program of events, competitions and development activities for players of all ages in the metropolitan area as well as regional, remote and rural areas. As the governing body for hockey in the State, the organisation is in a very unique position as it is home to some of the best facilities in the country and indeed the world. Furthermore, both Australian national teams - the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos - are based in Perth and are integrated into the State’s local competition. Hockey WA connects people by developing and delivering programs and competitions that drive participation, inclusion and lasting involvement in the sport.
