Malignant central nervous system tumors, such as glioblastoma and medulloblastoma, are among the most aggressive cancers and leave patients with the fewest treatment options. Vyro is a Brazilian biotech developing a new class of therapies for these tumors, built on Zika virus-based platforms. The same virus that once marked the country is being turned into a therapeutic tool, from enemy to ally, through two proprietary platforms: an oncolytic virus designed to selectively target CNS tumor cells, and a viral vector to deliver therapies to the brain. Founded in 2021, headquartered in São Paulo with operations in the United States, Vyro brings together researchers and partnerships with leading universities and institutions, and is part of the Vesper Biotechnologies portfolio.
