Africa’s vultures are disappearing at an alarming rate, and with their loss the stability of ecosystems and the wellbeing of human communities are placed at risk. Without these natural clean-up crews, disease spreads, carcasses accumulate and ecological balance breaks down. Vulpro is Africa’s leading vulture conservation organisation. From our centres in Hartbeespoort and at our facility based in the Eastern Cape at Shamwari, we rescue, rehabilitate and release injured vultures, provide lifelong sanctuary for non-releasable birds and operate Africa’s first captive breeding and release programme. Our work strengthens policy, advances conservation science and builds partnerships across sectors. Every rescue, every egg hatched and every release is made possible through the support of donors and sponsors. As an NGO, we receive no government funding and rely entirely on this generosity to continue our work. Protecting vultures is protecting nature. Join us in safeguarding these keystone species for generations to come.
