Merriam Music Inc. is family-owned and operated, headquartered just outside Toronto Canada in Oakville, serving customers throughout Canada and the United States. Alan Merriam founded the school and store in 1988, and continues today as CEO, with Stu Harrison helming as President. Merriam Music has two areas of focus: piano sales and music education. Merriam’s piano division, known as Merriam Pianos, is, by volume, the largest in Canada, and amongst the Top 20 globally. There are currently three locations in the GTA – Oakville, Vaughan, and the newly renovated/purchased Robert Lowrey Showroom east of Midtown Toronto. Merriam’s education division, which includes Merriam High School, The Merriam School of Music, and the Merriam Music Online Academy, hosts 3000+ weekly students. It’s primary teaching facility, the Oakville campus, is the largest private music school facility in Canada by square footage and student population. Quite simply, music is in our DNA. It defines us.
